Ann Curry

Ann Curry has worked as journalist for more than 45 years. Her reporting focuses on natural disasters and areas of war. Curry covered the conflicts that raged in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo, and Central African Republic. Ann Curry (born on November 19th, 1956 in the city of Agana) was an American television reporter, anchor as well as a journalist. She was most famous as a correspondent on the Today Show, which was a morning news program that was broadcast by National Broadcasting Co. Curry was renowned for her coverage of the humanitarian crisis in war-ravaged countries and on natural catastrophes. Curry was born in Japan and brought up by a Japanese mom. Her father served as a U.S. Navy sailor. Her father dated the mother of her in Japan while he was stationed there following World War II. Her father was a member of the military, so her family moved around a lot. Curry completed high school in Ashland Oregon. When she graduated from University of Oregon, Curry obtained a bachelor's degree in journalism degree in the year 1978. She was exposed to a variety of cultures and experiences during her upbringing likely influenced her empathetic way of communicating on issues of international significance. Curry moved around a lot along with her companion, and did not attend any school more than two full years. Her school was located in San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia. Her final graduation was in Ashland high school. Her career in broadcasting began with an internship with KTVL Channel 10 Medford in Oregon. When she was 22, she was the first journalist female for the station. In Portland in Oregon, she was made an anchor and reporter by KGW the NBC affiliate. After that, she moved into Los Angeles four years later to work as a reporter for KCBS TV. It was during her time with the station for 6 years that she was awarded two Emmy Awards.
